About the Great Commission Ministry Ethiopia
God is at Work! Exponential and sustainable growth with a global impact is a short way to describe the current state of our ministry. It is genuinely humbling that God chose us to be part of this Global influence.
The ministry we are in is to empower the church and raise a new breed of missionaries, who can harvest the digital space for the glory of the Lord. We are seeing hundreds of churches and ministries joining the digital mission and thousands of individuals unleashed and empowered to do digital mission. We are overwhelmed with the fruits that we are seeing globally.
I believe we are redefining the way to do missions in our generation. Today we are sending missionaries without the need to dislocate. We are helping them to do mission using their skills and tools at hand and the fruits are marvelous and transforming.

At GCME, we are committed to helping the Great Commission be fulfilled in Ethiopia and beyond through partnerships with local churches, individuals, and mission agencies. Since 1980, our ministry has been equipping and mobilizing the body of Christ for missions across the country.
Our ambitious vision is to see spiritual movements everywhere until everyone knows someone who truly follows Christ. To embrace this vision, we align our efforts in four critically strategic areas: Students, Churches, Leaders, and Digital. All these strategies have shared missions which are to Win people for Christ, Build Christ-like disciples, and equip and Send Missionaries so they can build and catalyze the spiritual movement we seek.
Why Digital?
We firmly believe that God has given us numerous opportunities to spread the gospel to all people faster than ever before in this era of information and technology. We are all working to bring the gospel to everyone through the Internet and other digital technologies, just as the early Christians were able to spread the gospel from Jerusalem to Rome and the rest of the world using the same road infrastructure that the Roman emperors built for their military and political purposes. We therefore use digital in two main ways.
As a Battlefield
The internet has also become a place for evil to be easily shared from one person to another. In the midst of this, racism and hate speech are currently putting the country to the test, and pornography has emerged as a problem that has upended many marriages and families, making it difficult for the church to address. Where would our battleground to save a lost generation be if not for digital technology?
Thus, as the Great Commission Ministry Digital Strategies Team, we are using digital strategy as one of the primary means of evangelism. With God’s help, we are serving millions of people every year by using social media, websites, training, TMM (mentoring service), and mobile applications. And we want to keep striving until we bring the good news to every screen because we believe that “Behind every screen is a person. Every person has a story. Every story matters to God.”
As a Mission Field
Today, 2/3 of the world’s population has access to the Internet. Many people are embracing this technology at an unprecedented rate, even in developing nations like Ethiopia. Additionally, millions of people every day ask various questions about God, the afterlife, happiness, and love thanks to resources like Google. In light of the fact that the Internet is one way to connect with people worldwide and that the Bible commands us to “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation,” the digital realm is a platform that God has provided for us to share the good news.
“It is not about making blogs, posters, videos, apps, or websites, but Christ-like Disciples”
