Why Missions Vine Exists
A New Way to Support Missionaries — Born from a Deep Calling and a Defining Moment
Missions Vine began with one question that wouldn’t go away:
“What if missionaries never had to walk alone again — and what if the next generation had a simple way to support them?”
Founder Story: “It Started With an Aha Moment”
A Personal Note From Our Founder
For the past 14+ years with the Jesus Film Project, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside hundreds of missionaries around the world. I’ve seen their courage, their faith, and their willingness to go wherever God sends them. But I’ve also seen the hidden weight so many carry: inconsistent support, donor silence, communication gaps, and the feeling of being alone on the front lines.
Earlier this year, at my church’s To*Gather 2024 Missions Conference, I noticed something I couldn’t ignore. The room was filled with passionate older believers—faithful saints who have fueled missions for decades. But almost no one from younger generations.
And yet, I know younger Christians want to give. They care about global justice, compassion, discipleship, and the unreached. They just give differently:
They want clarity, transparency, simplicity, authenticity, and impact they can actually see.
That moment sparked the idea behind Missions Vine:
- What if we created a new pathway for missions support—one built for the realities missionaries face and the way the next generation gives?
- What if supporting missions were as simple and meaningful as a monthly subscription
- What if missionaries weren’t raising support alone anymore?
- What if they were united into communities based on their calling—funded together, encouraged together, discipled together?
That vision became Missions Vine — a place where missionaries receive stable support, spiritual care, and community… and where modern givers can join a movement that truly matters.

The Real Struggles Missionaries Face
Missionaries aren’t struggling because of a lack of calling — they’re struggling because of a lack of support, stability, and connection.
What many missionaries experience:
- Spend up to 50% of their time fundraising, not ministering or have not means to raise support from their own country.
- Feel isolated and disconnected from donors
- Face language and communication barriers
- Live month-to-month on unstable support
- Lack a community that truly sees them and prays for them
Carry emotional and spiritual burdens often unseen by supporters
Why Many People Hesitate to Give (Even When They Care)
Even those who care deeply about missions are often unsure how or where to give.
Common barriers:
- Too many causes, not enough clarity
- Traditional platforms feel outdated or transactional
- One-time giving doesn’t feel connected or relational
- Hard to know if donations are truly making an impact
- Distrust around overhead, admin fees, or lack of transparency
- Desire for updates that feel authentic—not corporate
What the Next Generation of Donors Wants
A new generation of givers is rising—and they’re looking for something meaningful.
They want:
- Monthly giving that feels as easy as a subscription
- Genuine stories and honest updates
- Transparency about how money flows
- Social-friendly content worth sharing
- Connection to causes that reflect their values
- Trustworthy platforms that feel modern, simple, and real

The Model Behind the Movement: 100% to the Field
Your giving. Their mission. No overhead. No exceptions.
Operations are funded separately through The Vine community so your generosity always flows directly to missionaries.
Every dollar you give goes directly to mission work—not overhead. No admin fees. No hidden costs. Thanks to private donors covering operations through The Vine, 100% of what you give heads straight to the field to fuel missions that reach, serve,, and transform communities around the world.
We believe your generosity should go directly to the field — not overhead.
That’s why we created The Vine, our separate operations community.
